David is on the run again at this point, but is able to seek the Lord. His whole mindset has changed since he first started running from Saul. He has gone from trying to take care of matters on his own to depending on teh Lord to help him. Psalm 27, 31, and 54 were all written during the times mentioned in these verses. It would be good to read those Pslams in conjunction with this text to gain a better understanding of how David has changed his outlook.
